Summer and Winter Use
The Valdez Parks Department maintains numerous trails in and around Valdez. They range from short easy hikes to very long difficult adventures. Information on all of our trails can be found on our Summer Trail Maps Booklet and our Winter Trails Guide. Our trails include use areas for:

Cross country skiing Dog sleds Four wheelers Hiking

Running Snow machines Walking

Salmonberry Ski Hill Rope Tow is now OPEN for the season.

Park Shelter Rentals
The Valdez Parks Department has several picnic shelters which are available for party rentals and events. Contact The Parks Department main office at (907) 835-2531 to arrange for rentals. For parties which will be having alcohol, an alcohol waiver is necessary prior to your event and can also be acquired from the Parks and Recreation office. Extra picnic tables can also be rented.
