The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department operates and maintains the city's numerous parks, recreation areas, and recreational service programs for residents and visitors. The department also partners with many community and state organizations to bring new, exciting ideas into its programming to enhance the community's quality of life.

Additional Functions
The Parks and Recreation Commission acts as an advisory board to the City Council. Parks and Recreation Commission meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Valdez City Council Chambers. The public is always welcome.
