  1. Healthier You Health and Wellness Workshops

    March 1 - March 3 @ Convention and Civic Center

    The Health Coach is back! Leslie Kleinfeld, MPH, MEd will be back in Valdez April 5-7 with 5 brand new health and fitness workshops! Leslie is certified in personal health, fitness, lifestyle and yoga & postural alignment coaching and she wants to help you improve your wellness! Small Group Follow Up sessions are for those who had personal coaching sessions with Leslie during her first visit. These session are limited to 18 people each and participants will be required to fill out a second set of intake forms to update Leslie on your progress. The Health Coach Workshops are open to all Healthier You participants and are limited to 25 people per session. Participants are encouraged to attend more than one session. Please see the individual workshop descriptions session requirements and recommendations. See the Workshop and Small Group Follow up schedule, listed under details, for more information.

  3. First Annual Zipfy Slalom Race

    March 2, 1:00 PM @ Salmonberry Ski Hill

    Come to the First Annual Zipfy Slalom Race! A Frosty Fever Event! For ages 10-110! Participants will be grouped into teams of 4 will ride the zipfys (provided by Parks and Rec) down the hill through a mini luge course. The fastest total time will be used as the teams final score. Winners will receive prizes and bragging rights. For more information contact the Parks and Recreation office, located in the Civic Center or call 907-835-2531.

    March 2, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM @ Valdez Swimming Pool

    Get some exercise swimming laps! Lanes lines are used to separate swimmers and reduce their waves. If under 14 years old, must be accompanied by an adult and be proficient enough to swim laps.

    A time for parents and their young children to interact and play in the water! The small pool is open for parents and children age 6 or younger. We bring out some of our favorite water toys just for these tots! Parents must be in the water with their children.

    March 2, 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Valdez Swimming Pool

    Fun for all ages! Both pools are open, diving board is open. Deep-end is roped-off from the shallow end, making "lap swimming" difficult. Must be 8 years old or accompanied by an adult.
