		<description>The City of Valdez has the need throughout the year to hire temporary employees in various departments.&amp;nbsp; The City maintains a roster from which temporary positions may be filled as they become available. This roster is designed to be an ongoing list of individuals wishing to be considered for temporary employment. Hours and rates of pay will vary by position. Temporary appointments are non-benefited and short-term in nature.&amp;nbsp;&lt;A class=Hyperlink title=&quot;Temporary Application&quot; href=&quot;/DocumentCenter/Home/View/213&quot; target=_blank&gt;Temporary Applications&lt;/A&gt; for this roster will be accepted at any time.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR&gt;

    Applications will be kept on file for six months in five broad employment categories, please indicate which temporary job category or categories you would like to be considered for on the application form. &lt;BR&gt;

    &lt;UL&gt;
        &lt;LI&gt;Administration/Clerical- Duties may include greeting visitors, directing telephone calls, word processing/computer input, copying/filing, cashiering. &lt;/LI&gt;
        &lt;LI&gt;Skilled Labor- Employee will have formal training or experience in a trade or specialty field. &lt;/LI&gt;
        &lt;LI&gt;Unskilled Labor- Generally laborer type positions requiring little or no training or experience. &lt;/LI&gt;
        &lt;LI&gt;Program Assistants- Employee will work directly/primarily with the public in program delivery, for example Parks &amp;amp; Recreation Dept. summer programs. &lt;/LI&gt;
        &lt;LI&gt;Other- A general category for person with experience that does not fit within one of the other categories. &lt;/LI&gt;
